JOB - ARTISTIC DIRECTOR/MANAGING DIRECTOR - OTTAWA

Magnetic North Theatre Festival, Canada's National festival of English
language theatre will celebrate its 5th Anniversary in 2007 and is in
search of new leadership.

The Festival is inviting applications for the position of Artistic
Director and Managing Director to build on the past success and lead the
organization through its next phase of operations.  This is an excellent
opportunity for the right individuals with a national vision and
understanding. Team proposals will be considered.

Artistic Director
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Artistic Director will be
responsible for developing a strong artistic vision and implementing it.
The successful candidate will travel extensively and see work from
across the country in an effort to bring together the finest productions
for the festival in 2008 in Vancouver and 2009 in Ottawa.  He/she will
be fully conversant with contemporary theatre, well connected to the
national theatre and presenting communities and have programming and
touring experience.  

Managing Director
Also reporting to the Board of Directors, the Managing Director will be
responsible for the business management of the Festival including
financial management, operations, marketing, development and
administration.  The successful candidate will be a leader in the
industry and have a proven track record in arts administration. She/he
will manage an office and staff based in Ottawa and work with a
pan-Canadian board of directors.   
  
Both positions are expected to start September 1st, 2007 and will pay
between $55,000 and $65,000 per annum.  Interested applicants or teams
