Theatre Collingwood announces auditions for November-December production
of
"THE LAST CHRISTMAS  TURKEY" by Dan Needles.
Contract period:  November 12 =AD December 9, 2007
This is a full-length gentle comedy for family audiences which spins a
tale
about family memories and transitions.  When a brother and sister return
home to help their parents downsize, they reminisce about a favourite
childhood story about a turkey slated for a church Christmas supper.
Both actors play puppet characters, mask characters and themselves as
adults
in the present and as 10 and 12 year old children.

ROLES:
a) Role of Nancy:  30 =AD 38 year old acting range
Nancy is still very youthful in her ways and thinking.  She was the
driving
force behind the childhood games she played with her younger brother.
b) Role of Braden, 28 =AD36 year old acting range
Nancy=B9s brother is a bit more cynical but as he always has, buys into
the
fantasies orchestrated by his older sister.

QUALITIES:  Experienced comic actors who are experienced with
manipulation
of mask and large puppets.

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:  Please prepare one short comic monologue.
Those selected for an audition will be sent specific segments from the
script.  Please be prepared to demonstrate ability with hand held masks,
large puppets, and voice characterization.  The company will provide the
masks and puppets.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE:  as soon as possible (Auditions tentatively
scheduled
for August 30 in Toronto).
