The Artistic Directorate of the Stratford Shakespeare Festival, in
conjunction with Martha Henry, Director of the BIRMINGHAM CONSERVATORY
FOR CLASSICAL THEATRE TRAINING, have announced that auditions for the
coming Conservatory session are being held across Canada from February
12 to March 1, 2008. The Conservatory program will begin mid-September,
2008, and finish mid-February, 2009. Members of the Conservatory will
be paid for their participation and, upon completion, will be offered
roles in Stratford's 2009 season.

Preference will be given to actors who have completed training at an
accredited theatre school and who have been working in the profession
for approximately two years. Candidates should be, or be willing to
become, members of Canadian Actors' Equity Association.

Successful applicants will be asked to prepare 2 contrasting speeches
from Shakespeare plus one piece of their own choosing from any
playwright. Each selection should be no longer than 3 minutes. Please
be advised that you may not be asked to present all of your material in
the audition.
