SOLO COLLECTIVE THEATRE in partnership with the VANCOUVER PLAYHOUSE, invites you to enter the seventh-annual EMERGING PLAYWRIGHTS’ COMPETITION.  Three winning monologues and/or dual character scripts will be selected from contest entries, to be presented at SOLO FLIGHTS, the annual Emerging Writers’ Showcase, in April/May of 2011.

Please MAIL your properly formatted submission (see below) on or before February 1, 2011 to:

Submission Requirements:
→       typed, double-spaced WITH page numbers
→       a title page with your name and contact info (including email address)
→       max. length 1250 words for monologues, and 2200 words for dual character scenes
→       $20 Submission fee plus $5 membership fee if you are not already a member of Solo Collective in 2011 (cheques only, made out to Solo Collective Theatre Society)


Three winners will be announced in late March, and will receive:
→       written feedback from two dramaturges
→       a two-hour workshop with a professional actor and a dramaturge
→       a public reading by professional actors at SOLO FLIGHTS, our Emerging Writers’ Showcase, at the Vancouver Playhouse Production Centre
→       a profile on Solo Collective’s web site
