The Arts Club Theatre is accepting resumes for INTIMATE APPAREL by Lynn
Nottage, directed by John Cooper.

A love story set in New York in 1905, amid the ragtime music of Scott
Joplin. Esther, an ambitious African-American woman has aspirations in
conflict with turn-of-the-century society.  When George, a charming
Caribbean islander, writes to her, a romance begins promising to help
her realize her dreams.

Casting for the role of:

Mrs Dickson
Fifty, a handsome, impeccably groomed African American woman.  A  bit of
a busy body, intrudes into Esther's business and  tries to control her
affairs.  She assumes a maternal role with Esther. Mayme A  beautiful
African-American woman in her 30's, a talented piano player in the style
of Jelly Roll Morton.  Tired of her life as a prostitute, she has
accepted her lot in life with the help of moonshine. She is Esther's
friend, despite their  different choices.

Rehearsals start January 16, 2012; the show runs February 9 - March 10,
2012  at the Granville Island Stage.
