2012-2015 CTA RATIFIED BY MEMBERSHIP

Recently negotiated changes to the 2012-2015 Canadian Theatre Agreement
(CTA) with the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT) were
ratified by the eligible Equity membership in an Internet and telephone
vote concluded yesterday.
 
Members voted 73.7% (688) in support of the proposed changes, and 25.9%
against the proposed changes (242). There were three (3) spoiled
ballots.

The voting return rate was 34.3%. 2,717 voters were eligible to vote and
933 Equity members cast a ballot. 34.2% of the votes cast were cast in
the last day of the ratification voting period.

New CTA minimum fee increases (1.5% in year 1; 1.5% in year 2; and 2% in
year 3; and 5.08% in year 1 to all workshop fees and rates), and
increases to any other monetary term of the CTA where a single minimum
fee or rate applies for the duration of the Agreement (3% in year 1)
will take effect June 25, 2012.

All material changes to the CTA will take effect December 31, 2012,
allowing both Equity and PACT time to make the administrative changes
required to implement the ratified changes. 

The material terms (only) of the previous CTA remain will remain in
effect until December 30, 2012. Copies of the "2012-2015 CTA minimum
