IN THIS WORLD

Production synopsis:    Bijou, a pretty blonde from a priviledged background, and Neyssa, a Jamaican immigrant, wait in detention after getting into a vicious fight at school.  As the girls confront each other about what happened, they realize that a tragedy lies between them. The tragedy is bigger than their differences, forcing them to examine their lives in a new light.

2 Actors required:     

Bijou:          Caucasian, 16 years old female.
Neyssa:         Afro-Canadian, 16 years old female.

Must be able to convincingly portray a high school student. Do not submit children.
Youtheatre works with professionally trained actors.  Equity and non-Equity members
may apply.

Production dates:                       Montreal, 5 week contract
Rehearsals:                             February 25 - March 8, 2013
Théâtre Calixa-Lavallée:                March 11 - 15, 2013
TYA School Tour:                        March 18-29, 2013

The play will be directed by Youtheatre's Artistic Director, Michel Lefebvre.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
