Additional information:
Theatrefront is looking for a deaf or hearing-impaired male actor to play the role of "Billy" in Nina Raine's TRIBES.

The production takes place at Canadian Stage (Toronto) in January/February 2014, and Theatre Aquarius (Hamilton) in April/May 2014.

Billy - 20-35 years old. Billy was born deaf to a hearing family. Never learned to sign because his family didn't want him to grow up feeling deaf, although by doing this they made him feel like an outcast in his own home. Doesn't consider himself to be disabled, and becomes fluent in ASL over the course of the play. Trying to find where he fits in the world.

Please note: Billy speaks his lines through much of the play, and ultimately communicates through ASL as well.

An ASL translator will be present at the auditions.
