Additional information:

Carousel Theatre for Young People is seeking 5 versatile actors for
their production of The Wondrous Tales of Old Japan by David Furumoto.
Directed by Mike Stack with movement /production dramaturgy by Yayoi
Hirano.  This play consists of 4 Japanese folk tales that will be told
in a Kabuki-style format.  All actors will play multiple characters.
Characters include:

 

- Ojiisan and Obaasan, an old Japanese couple

- Momotaro, a young Japanese boy

- Urashima, a young Japanese fisherman

- Princess Oryu, a Japanese princess

- Gonjiro, an old Japanese man

- Hideo, son to Gonjiro

- Yuki Onna, the snow woman

- Waruita, a mean Japanese man

- An ogre

- Koken, a Japanese stage assistant

- Various animals: Dog, Monkey, Pheasant, Turtle

 

This production will be staged at the Waterfront Theatre from April
4-20, 2014.

 

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
