Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
The Outlook Theatre Group encourages submissions from actors of all
cultural backgrounds.
Additional information:
The Outlook Theatre Group will workshop and present the first public
reading of "Mrs. Warren's Daughter" - a new play by Canadian playwright,
Ric Waugh; based on George Bernard Shaw's "Mrs. Warren's Profession".
Engagement will be November 21st until November 26th 2014 inclusively.
We are accepting submissions (by email only) for the following roles:
VIVVY (20's): A pretty, confident woman of about 25 years. Self-aware
and mature for her age but not quite as much as she'd like to think. A
genius in short shorts.
KITTY (50's): Vivvy's mother. A very attractive woman who looks 45 to
50. She is equally at home at the opera or a seedy bar. A former
prostitute turned highly successful business woman.
GEORGE (55-60): Long time friend of Kitty's, (slightly older), he is a
respected and wealthy businessman with the demeanour of a favourite
burly Uncle.
PRAED (40's): Another old friend of Kitty's (about 5-10 years younger).
Handsome, independently wealthy textile designer of any nationality. If
James Bond designed lamp shades.
SAM (40's-50's): A conservative pundit, former preacher, with the
personality of a local cable tv weatherman.
FRANK (20's): A handsome twenty-something tool of a human, but
likeable.
