Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
Winnipeg Jewish Theatre encourages submissions from artists of all
backgrounds regardless of race, age or orientation.

Additional information:
Winnipeg Jewish Theatre will be holding auditions in Toronto for its
production of The Whipping Man by Matthew Lopez to be directed by Cherissa
Richards and Ari Weinberg. Artists who wish to be considered for this
production please submit a headshot and resume to auditions at wjt.ca by May
24, 2016.

We are casting the following roles:

Caleb DeLeon - 20's, an injured confederate soldier returning home after
serving in the American Civil War; the only child of a prominent Jewish
family in Richmond, Virginia.

John - 20's, a former slave in the DeLeon home and childhood companion of
Caleb.

*the role of Simon has already been cast

Only successful applicants will be contacted to arrange an audition.

Rehearsals begin April 13, 2017
Performances begin May 4, 2017
Closing performance October May 14, 2017

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract.
