Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement:
Obsidian is passionately dedicated to the exploration, development and
production of the Black voice. This one of a kind program was created to
develop the skills of Black Canadian theatre artists and to help motivated
creators take their careers to the next level.

Additional information:
Obsidian Theatre Company is now seeking applicants from across Canada for
its Mentor/Apprentice Program. As one of the leading independent theatre
companies in Canada, Obsidian is passionately dedicated to the exploration,
development and production of the Black voice. Apprenticeships are available
in the following fields of interest: Directing, Dramaturgy, Lighting Design,
Production Management, Costume Design, Set Design, Producing, Music
Directing. Placements will occur between the fall of 2016 and spring 2017.
Please submit a resume and cover letter indicating career goals and how an
apprentice position would help in achieving those goals. Applicants from
across Canada are encouraged to apply. Applications must be sent via e-mail
as one PDF and must not exceed 3 pages, total. Late applications will not be
considered.
