Additional information:
AMANDA WINGFIELD
A woman of great but confused vitality clinging to another time and place.
There is much to admire in her and as much to love and pity as there is to
laugh at. She has endured a kind of heroism, and though her foolishness
makes her unwittingly cruel at times, there is tenderness in her person. A
proud woman fiercely devoted to her children.
TOM WINGFIELD
The narrator of the play. A poet with a job in a warehouse. His nature is
not remorseless, but to escape from a trap he has to act without pity. He
is deeply devoted to his sister and constantly at odds with his mother. He
is remembering.
LAURA WINGFIELD
She is like a piece of her own glass collection, too fragile to move from
the shelf. She can summon great bravery. She is a kind soul with a tender
regard for her mother and brother.
JIM O’CONNOR
A nice, ordinary, young man. A co-worker of Tom’s and a former classmate
of Laura’s. His promise peaked in high school but he continues to approach
the world with a positive outlook.
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
