[CANUFNET] Looking for Tree protection bylaws in Canadian Municipalities

There are four pieces of legislation, policy and procedure to protect trees in the Town of Oakville.

This procedure applies to Town and private trees covered under any municipal permit process or agreement relating to construction. Under this procedure, Utilities (Hydro, cable companies), and Municipal Capital project must obtain a Tree Protection Zone Encroachment Permit to enter tree protection zone of any Town tree and all work must be audited by a qualified arborist on site during the project. Every Town tree removal must be compensated by planting trees to the amount of lost canopy cover or leaf area.

Subject: [CANUFNET] Looking for Tree protection bylaws in Canadian Municipalities

We have come to a point in Saskatoon where we need to start to readdress our tree protection policy.  This year alone, we anticipate the loss of ¾ million dollars to construction projects.  I have been requested by council to address how we are protecting our trees from construction(Ironic as they are driving the development).  Anyways,  I would appreciate any documentation for your respective municipalities (urban or rural) that I may be able to take a look at so I can start rewriting our policies and turn them into a potential bylaw.
