[CANUFNET] Utilizing Urban Wood

Hello,

I'm a student at Fleming College in Lindsay, ON. I will
 be in the first graduating year of their Urban Forestry Technician 
program! I just wanted to ask what measures are taken when harvesting 
Urban Wood to ensure products (such as nails, staples, wires etc) are 
not within the core of the tree before cutting into it?
