The GREEN SURGE project invites you to an online conversation with two leading researchers in the field of urban green infrastructure.

Prof. Dr. Cecil Konijnendijk van den Bosch, Professor for Urban Ecology at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, and Prof. Dr. Stephan Pauleit, Chair for Strategic Landscape Planning and Management, Technical University of Munich, Germany, will share some of their observations on the current academic discourse on green infrastructure in Northern America and Europe. They will discuss the opportunities of urban green for cities as well as its pitfalls - and where and how research can support cities to avert them.

As former and current Scientific Coordinators of GREEN SURGE, Cecil and Stephan have been looking into cities' approaches to green infrastructure development for many years. Both will be keynote speakers at the GREEN SURGE Final Conference "Connecting People and Nature for Sustainable Cities<http://cts.vresp.com/c/?ICLEI/fce5996292/d78ffe5217/d7ca62966a>" taking place from 20-21 September 2017 in Malm?, Sweden.
