I read with interest the Report of the Standing Committee on Natural Resources (Feb 2019), page 15:
Nevertheless, Michael Rosen of Tree Canada suggested that urban forestry should be reflected in federal policy, as is the case in other G7 countries. The Federation of Canadian Municipalities called on the federal government to “involve municipalities in the development and delivery of forest pest programs, and provide resources to local governments in instances where municipalities are directly involved in limiting the spread of forest pests.”
Mike- “thank you”, to you and the other ‘witnesses’ who appeared before this Committee to speak up for the inclusion of urban forests!
