On behalf of the Canadian Institute of Forestry/Institut forestier du Canada
(CIF-IFC), we are pleased to inform you that the call for proposals for the
Forest Capital of Canada 2024 designation is now open!

We encourage you to circulate this message (and the attached promotional

communities and regions that may be interested in submitting a proposal!

About the Forest Capital of Canada:

Established in 1979, the Forest Capital of Canada program focuses on the
valuable role forests play in the socio-economic and environmental health of
our communities – past, present and future. Originally delivered by the
Canadian Forestry Association, the CIF-IFC now administers the legacy
program through its National Awards Program. Each year the CIF-IFC
designates a community or region to host a celebration of its forest
resources.

Eligibility Criteria

Communities or regions interested in being designated the next Forest
Capital of Canada must build a business case in the form of a proposal that
illustrates their capacity to host a 12- to 24-month celebration of forest
resources.

Application Procedure

*  Communities or regions interested in being designated the next Forest
Capital of Canada must provide a complete submission which includes an
application form, proposal and letters of support.

*  Only complete submissions received by the deadline will be considered by
the Awards Committee.

*  Submissions from previous years can be resubmitted if it is still
considered relevant.

Proposals must be received before June 15, 2023 and can be submitted by

Au sujet de la désignation de Capitale forestière du Canada

Créée en 1979, la désignation de Capitale forestière du Canada souligne le
rôle précieux que jouent les forêts dans la santé socio-économique et
environnementale de nos communautés, et ce, dans le passé, le présent et
l'avenir. À l’origine, ce programme était géré par l’Association forestière
canadienne, mais l'IFC-CIF administre maintenant ce programme patrimonial à
travers le programme de prix nationaux. Chaque année, l'IFC-CIF désigne une
collectivité ou une région qui sera l'hôte d'un événement visant à mettre en
valeur ses ressources forestières.

Critères d’éligibilité

Les collectivités ou les régions intéressées à être désignées comme
prochaine Capitale forestière du Canada doivent établir une analyse de
rentabilisation sous la forme d'une proposition qui démontre leur capacité à
tenir des activités de célébration honorant leurs ressources forestières sur
12 à 24 mois.

Procédure de mise en candidature

*  Les collectivités ou les régions intéressées à être désignées prochaine
Capitale forestière du Canada doivent soumettre un dossier complet
comprenant un formulaire de mise en candidature, une proposition et des
lettres d'appui.

*  Seules les candidatures dûment remplies reçues avant la date limite
seront prises en considération par le Comité des prix.

*  Les candidatures des années précédentes peuvent être soumises à nouveau
si elles sont toujours considérées comme pertinentes.

Le dossier de candidature rempli doit être reçu avant le 15 juin 2023 en
