Applications for tree planting funding under the Growing Canada’s Community Canopies (GCCC) initiative are now open!

Tree Canada has partnered with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities' Green Municipal Fund<https://greenmunicipalfund.ca/growing-canadas-community-canopies> to provide local governments and communities with urban forestry expertise to inform best planting practices, tree species and site selection, and maintaining diverse canopies.

The GCCC initiative plans to fund over 500 projects through two main funding streams: tree planting and strategic funding. It aims to plant 1.2 million trees nationwide by March 2031.

Applications for tree planting funding are accepted from May 15 to July 12, 2024, for the spring 2025 planting season and from July 13 – October 15 2024 for the fall 2025 planting season.
  2.
Strategic funding to support urban forest planning and capacity will be available starting in the winter of 2025.

As part of this initiative, Tree Canada is coordinating urban forest coaches to provide tailored support services and expert knowledge to guide communities to plan and implement their projects.

Les demandes de financement pour l'initiative Croissance de la canopée des collectivités canadiennes (CCCC) sont maintenant ouvertes !

Arbres Canada s'est associé au Fonds municipal vert<https://fondsmunicipalvert.ca/croissance-de-la-canopee-des-collectivites-canadiennes> de la Fédération canadienne des municipalités pour fournir aux gouvernements locaux et aux collectivités une expertise en matière de foresterie urbaine afin d'éclairer les meilleures pratiques de plantation, le choix des espèces d'arbres et des sites, et le maintien d'une canopée diversifiée.

L’initiative CCCC prévoit de financer plus de 500 projets par le biais de deux flux de financement principaux : la plantation d’arbres et le financement stratégique. Il est prévu de planter 1,2 million d’arbres dans tout le pays d’ici mars 2031.

Les demandes de financement pour la plantation d’arbres sont acceptées du 15 mai au 12 juillet 2024 pour la saison de plantation de printemps 2025, et du 13 juillet au 15 octobre 2024 pour la saison de plantation d’automne 2025.
  2.
Le financement stratégique pour soutenir la planification et la capacité des forêts urbaines sera disponible à partir de l'hiver 2025.

Dans le cadre de cette initiative, Arbres Canada coordonne des accompagnateurs en foresterie urbaine qui offrent des services de soutien personnalisés et des connaissances spécialisées pour guider les collectivités dans le processus de demande.
