Hi Nathalie,
In collaboration with the CFIA, BC Ministry of Agriculture, local invasive species councils, and municipalities, we've created a Japanese beetle guidebook<https://metrovancouver.org/services/regional-planning/Documents/japanese-beetle-guidebook.pdf>, which describes our collaborative approach for surveillance, treatment, and movement control. However, BC is considered by the CFIA to be 'Uninfested / Quarantine pest' because our JB numbers are currently very low and we have an eradication program in place, whereas the CFIA considers NS to be "Partially or generally infested<https://inspection.canada.ca/en/plant-health/invasive-species/directives/horticulture/96-15/appendix-1>", so our approach may not be appropriate in your context. This CFIA webpage<https://inspection.canada.ca/en/plant-health/invasive-species/insects/japanese-beetle/questions-and-answers> suggests getting in touch with your local ministry of agriculture for advice about how to manage JB infestations.
All the best,

Hello,
We (Halifax Regional Municipality) are experiencing a particularly bad year for the Japanese beetle. It is voraciously feeding on our right-of-way and park trees, and we are especially concerned about our juvenile trees that have been planted within the past couple of years.
I'm wondering if any municipalities have experience/advice dealing with this. Any information about interventions (or a lack of) that did or did not work is appreciated!
Thank you,
Natalie
