Nuclear ransom note should be rejected
Desperate to reverse its declining fortunes, the nuclear industry began touting a new generation of reactors it dubs SMRs, using the #climatecrisis as a cover. Now it's expecting hundreds of millions $ in public funding from the feds and provinces.

Haiti Betrayed
This powerful film, with its heart-stopping footage, captures the brutality of what the “advanced” world has done to the people of Haiti since their heroic revolution against slavery. Canada’s shameful role – braying about human rights even as it provides political cover for the US overthrow of Haitian democracy – exposes the lie behind Canada’s good-guy image in the world.

What does the Gardiner East $1B re-build have to do with cycling? Everything.
The expressway - a product of 1950s and 1960s thinking - gobbles up today’s infrastructure dollars while funnelling more cars onto congested roads where the war for space is never-ending. Furthermore, rebuilding an elevated expressway while the Earth burns is symbolically and literally out of touch with today’s reality.

Take the Tooker
The 30 km cross-town Bloor-Danforth bicycle expressway, envisioned in 2005 as a legacy project in honour of the late Tooker Gomberg, is already 16 km built - it is now the longest continuous bikeway in Toronto. By 2024, another 14 km should be built extending from Kipling to Scar. Golf Club Rd. Enjoy the ride!!! Special shout out of thanks to Toronto Community Bikeways Coalition - TCBC, Bells On Kingston, Bells on Danforth, Bells on Bloor, Cycle Toronto and Hamish Wilson for their relentless advocacy.

Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) Consultation: Tell the Feds A Stronger ZEV Mandate is Needed
Tuesday March 7, 7 - 8 p.m. ET
With Ken Love from Climate Messengers & Raymond Leury, President of the Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa (EVCO)
The government of Canada has released Draft Zero Emission Vehicle Regulations (“Draft ZEV Regs”). If these draft regulations are made into law, they will create sales quotas for ZEVs. Each year a certain, and increasing, percentage of all the cars, SUVs, and pick-up trucks (collectively called “light duty vehicles”) that each automaker in Canada sells would have to be ZEVs. It is very important that you, and many other people like you, take a bit of time to learn about the Draft ZEV Regs and provide your comments on them, because most of the automakers have opposed, and continue to oppose, the Draft ZEV Regs. Please make a submission if you can by March 16th, even if you don’t attend the webinar.
