Subject: Laurier Co-op Information

Good Afternoon Lynne,

Thank you for taking my call this morning, it was a pleasure speaking
with you. My role is to assist and support our students by sourcing
paid employment opportunities over the summer months that will enhance
their educational experiences. I am responsible for liaising with
not-for-profit organizations throughout Ontario and we have seen
increased interest from our students who want to gain work experience in
Ottawa.

As you may know, Laurier Co-op is the largest Business Co-op program in
Canada, but there is also a thriving Arts/Science Co-op program that
features students in programs such as Communication Studies, Sociology,
Global Studies, Psychology, Political Science, Philosophy, Physical
Education/Kinesiology and many more.

Laurier Co-op students apply for the Co-op program after they have
completed their 1st year of university and must be enrolled in an
Honours program with at least a 7.0 GPA (B-) in order to be granted an
interview.

Students are evaluated based on their GPA, work experience, volunteer
experience, participation in extracurricular activities and performance
in the interview. We use this criteria to ensure that we are promoting
the most well-rounded students to learn and contribute to your
organization.

We are connecting with organizations all over Ontario to determine an
interest in providing a paid, full-time employment opportunity for our
Co-op students between May and the end of August. Opportunities we are
seeking will incorporate elements of research, analysis and
project-based work. It is our intent to provide opportunities that will
enable the student to bring the experience back to their studies and
have a positive effect.

If you are interested in posting an available position that is at least
12 weeks in length over the summer, please contact me and I would be
happy to make it available to our students.
I have also attached a salary survey that reflects the weekly wages
that our students received in Spring 2007.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions.
