WHAT’S THE HARM?

A PUBLIC FORUM TO DISCUSS HARM REDUCTION AND DRUG POLICY

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25th
OTTAWA

Harm reduction is working. Outreach programs, needle exchanges, safer
inhalation programs and Vancouver’s supervised injection site, InSite, are
reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS and increasing the number of people
accessing treatment.

On Thursday, October 25, 2007, the AIDS Committee of Ottawa (ACO) and the
University of Ottawa, HIV Prevention Research Team, bring together a panel
of elected officials, drug use and health experts, and front line workers,
for a public forum on harm reduction, public health and an integrated
strategy for drug use.

ACO and the University of Ottawa welcome panelists:

EUGENE OSCAPELLA, Lawyer and Lecturer on Criminology, University of Ottawa

LAVERNE MONETTE of the Ontario Aboriginal HIV/AIDS Strategy;

NDP MP LIBBY DAVIES, the federal NDP spokesperson on Drug Policy;

a Youth Leader from THE HARM REDUCTION YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE Youth
Services Bureau of Ottawa; and

a special presentation by JAKE COLE, Health Promotion Critic for the Green
Party.

Please Join the AIDS Committee of Ottawa (ACO) and the University of Ottawa,
HIV Prevention Research Team for:
