 Hi Dana
Bill Haggett here. Just letting you know I am moving May 1st. To a small
town south of Ottawa, called Winchester. I will be staying involved with the
NDP, and my anti Poverty work there. Don't think there is a legal clinic in
that area to join though. I will be keeping the same email address. Hope all
is well at ISAC. Bye for now

Your Friend

Ontario Campaign 2000 released its 2007 Report Card on child and family
poverty in Ontario today.
The report, entitled "*The Road Ahead: Poverty Reduction in Ontario*" (March
2008), finds that 1 in every 8 children in the province is living in poverty
when income is measured after taxes, that having to rely on social
assistance is "a guarantee of poverty", and that full-time, full-year work
at Ontario's new minimum wage of $8.75/hour generates earnings that are
approximately $3,000 below the poverty line. The report repeats Ontario
Campaign 2000's call for an effective poverty reduction strategy that sets a
minimum target of 25% reduction in the child poverty rate over the next five
years, and a minimum 50% reduction over ten years.
The full report is available on the national Campaign 2000 website at:
