Just a thought of two on 4th Report Card Evaluation ...

Regards the 4th Report Card Evaluation -- the Grades are too high.

Respectfully, please do not soft sell policy drive poverty issues to politicians, as per the Report's Grades. The Liberal MPPs and Ministry staff are not taking ODSP and OW poverty Crisis seriously (Queens Park April 2nd, 2008). In short they listen, but have chosen not to hear and act approprately in an equitable and health-full way. In fact it is been noted many do not believe in the poverty cut off line, but rather think such a notion needs further study, along side studying their existing programs.

The Liberals and peers do not need to study poverty more, but rather there is tons of knowledge already in place. The ailing vulnerable are not the problem to ending poverty, but rather as SSHRCC note already it is the systemic barriers already before them. If you have any doubts on this matter please contact Michael Prue, MPP Beaches-East York (http://www.michaelprue.com<about:blank>) at Queen's Park.

Michael Prue MPP can be contacted at Queen's Park Rm. 154 Main Legislative Bldg. Toronto, ON M7A 1A5 ( t: 416.325.1303 f: 416.325.1367, e: mprue-qp at ndp.on.ca<about:blank> [ http://www.michaelprue.com/contact.html<about:blank> ]). Michael Prue MPP is the NDP critic for Finance, Municipal Affairs and Housing, Public Infrastructure Renewal, Community and Social Services. Michael Prue knows his stuff and works very hard to give voice to the issues of poverty and homelessness at Queen's Park -- his office is flooded with the dire needs of some 780, 000 ailing vulnerable citizens on ODSP and OW. Maybe it would be a good thing to plug into that scene and help the cause.

So too please feel free to review the Queen's Park Hansard of April 2nd, 2008. Citizens with permanent and long-term disabilites are described as "Deadenders" by Liberal MPPs. Beyond this ODSP and OW as well as releated are noted as being fiscal blackholes that the Liberals do not wish to invest or put more money into. Moreover, please include the language of social determinates of heal and the public good. Case management and relate service provision is more likely to pathologize and institutionalize the poor that in a disfunctional and injurious ways. All in all, a sad matter. Thank you.

Be well.

regards,
Citizen's Ayataskisiw Cooperative.

"Canada is not a country for the cold of heart or the cold of feet." ~ Pierre Elliot Trudeau.

"Those who do not feel pain much, seldom think that it is felt. And yes, to wipe all tears from all faces is a task too hard for mortals; but to alleviate misfortunes is often within the most limited power: yet the opportunities which every day affords of relieving the most wretched of human beings are overlooked and neglected with equal disregard of policy and goodness."
~ Samuel Johnson.
