Networking Caucuses with Lunch

Lunch will be provided for all participants to enjoy while sharing ideas
with each other. 

When registering please indicate your top three choices.

1.           Harm Reduction: What next in Ottawa? 
Moving ahead: from the past year’s issues and the hot issues of the day to
emerging issues.

2.           Inclusive Decision-Making
Discussion of strategies to improve communications between people with
experiences of homelessness and the individuals who design and administer
programs that serve them. 

3.           It’s Not Rocket Science
Solving homelessness: the need for a national, provincial, and local
strategy for increasing actual affordable housing units alongside a ‘housing
first’ strategy.

4.           Family Homelessness 

‘Wanted: a house and a home’ – ways of restoring families to stable and
suitable housing 

5.           Homelessness and the Criminal Justice System
Discussion focusing on research presented by the panelists and on promising
approaches to assisting people who are homeless and who experience legal
difficulties. (A follow-up to first panel presentation.)

6.           Getting the Word Out
Identifying recommendations and next steps in gaining media attention for
homelessness and housing. (A follow-up to second panel presentation.)

Keynote Address by Canada’s leading expert and long-time advocate on
affordable housing, now the Director of Community Engagement at The
Wellesley Institute in Toronto
