Make Poverty History' campaign. Our goal is to press all candidates to
commit to ending poverty at home and abroad. And we need your help to do it.

I spent Sunday afternoon meeting in Toronto with about a dozen activists
from all over Southern Ontario, discussing plans for the upcoming election.
These include:
- printing and distributing posters, brochures and lawn signs;
- organizing all-candidates meetings in key swing ridings;
- creating and promoting online actions to connect voters with their
candidates;
- implementing a national media strategy to raise poverty as an election
issue;
- seeking endorsements from candidates of our Make Poverty History goals,
and reporting back to you who will and will not work to make poverty
history.

Make Poverty History is a non-partisan campaign, so we won't be telling you
who to vote for. But we will be making sure that all candidates in this
election face questions about what they - and their parties - will do to end
poverty in Canada and overseas. We need to make sure that people who want
your vote know you want them to work to make poverty history.

Dimanche, Stephen Harper a déclenché des élections et nous avons lancé notre
campagne « Votez pour abolir la pauvreté ». Notre objectif est d'insister
auprès de tous les politiciens (et futurs politiciens) pour qu'ils
s'engagent à mettre fin à la pauvreté, tant au Canada qu'à l'étranger.

J'ai passé le dimanche après-midi en réunion avec une douzaine d'activistes,
à discuter de plans pour l'élection qui vient d'être annoncée. Ils incluent
:
- imprimer et distribuer des affiches, des brochures et des pancartes de
pelouse;
- organiser des réunions avec tous les candidats dans les circonscriptions
incertaines;
- créer et promouvoir des actions en ligne afin de mettre les électeurs en
contact avec leurs candidats;
- mettre en place des stratégies médiatiques nationales afin de faire de la
pauvreté un enjeu électoral.
- demander aux candidats d'appuyer les objectifs d'Abolissons la pauvreté et
de vous informer par la suite de qui a l'intention ou non de travailler à
abolir la pauvreté.

ne vous dirons pas pour qui voter. Mais nous nous assurerons que tous les
candidats de cette élection ont à répondre à nos questions sur ce qu'ils
comptent faire (ainsi que leur parti) pour abolir la pauvreté au Canada et à
l'étranger. Nous devons nous assurer que les gens qui veulent votre vote
savent que vous voulez qu'ils travaillent pour abolir la pauvreté.
