Subject: CRAFT internship listing

Hello Madame, Monsieur,

Following is an invitation to invitation to check out the new CRAFT (Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training) program in Ottawa. This is aimed at people who have thought about having a farm or working on a farm, and who would like to participate in a rich, on-farm internship. I would really appreciate it if you could post this notice to any listserve or email list which might be directed at young people looking for work or others who are looking to change careers. I would also appreciate it if you could let me know if you posted it, and to what list.

Thanks very much,

Robin Turner

Become an intern on an ecological farm this summer!

Have you ever thought about becoming an ecological farmer? Would you like the opportunity to learn from an established farmer on their own farm? CRAFT (Collaborative Regional Alliance for Farmer Training) connects interns with farms who will take them in a season-long exchange of work for knowledge. Farms usually offer a weekly stipend and room and board, and interns are expected to be motivated, hard working and committed to the ideals of ecological agriculture. Interns will also have the chance to participate in a series of on-farm training workshops and visit other farms in the region. Summer interns exchange their labour for room, board, a stipend and education that touches on all aspects of farming.

All of the farm opportunities can be seen on the CRAFT Ontario website at www.craftontario.ca <http://www.craftontario.ca/> . Be sure to check the listings for the Kingston and Kawartha nodes AS WELL as Ottawa, as there are many farms in these nodes within a close proximity to Ottawa.

Any questions about the Ottawa CRAFT node can be directed to Robin Turner by email: robin at justfood.ca .
