Plan Amendment has been prepared to satisfy the provisions of the Planning
Act that requires a municipality to review its Official Plan at least every
five years.  Proposed changes resulting from this review include revisions
to a large number of policies with emphasis on four areas:

*	Intensification and the urban boundary
*	Urban design
*	Rural settlement
*	Natural heritage

Staff may recommend further revisions to the Official Plan based on written
and oral input from the public and agencies and the Plan will then be
adopted by City Council. However, it is the responsibility of the Minister
of Municipal Affairs and Housing to approve, modify or not approve the
Official Plan. Once the Minister issues a decision on the proposed
amendment, residents have 20 days within which they may appeal all or part
of that decision.  In order to do so, the appellant must have made: 
An oral submission at the public meeting held on March 31, April 1, May 12
or May 14.

A written submission prior to the City Council meeting adopting the
Amendment

proposée au Plan officiel a été préparée en vue de satisfaire aux
dispositions de la Loi sur l’aménagement du territoire, qui exige que les
municipalités révisent leur plan officiel au moins tous les cinq ans. Les
modifications proposées par suite de cette révision touchent un grand nombre
de politiques, et portent essentiellement sur quatre domaines :

*	Densification et limites urbaines
*	Aménagement urbain
*	Peuplement en milieu rural
*	Patrimoine naturel

Le personnel peut recommander d’autres révisions au Plan officiel, en
fonction des commentaires écrits et oraux des membres du public et des
représentants d’organismes, après quoi le Plan sera adopté par le Conseil
municipal. Toutefois, il incombe au ministre des Affaires municipales et du
Logement d’approuver, de modifier ou de refuser le Plan officiel. Une fois
rendue la décision du Ministère sur la modification proposée, les résidents
disposent d’un délai de 20 jours pour faire appel de cette décision, en
partie ou en totalité. À cette fin, l’auteur de l’appel doit avoir fait :

Une présentation orale lors d’une des réunions publiques prévues le 31 mars,
le 1er avril, le 12 mai ou le 14 mai; ou

Une présentation écrite avant la réunion du Conseil au cours de laquelle la
modification doit être adoptée.
