A gentle reminder . . .
For members of the Homelessness Ottawa Listserv provided by the Alliance to
End Homelessness (ATEH)
To keep email volume down, members are asked to post only those messages
relevant to homelessness in Ottawa when they email to the full listserv. If
you have a question about your subscription or if you wish to Subscribe or
Unsubscribe please email me directly at lbrowne at ysb.on.ca.
The Homelessness Ottawa Listserv members share information and news about
the homelessness crisis and the diversity of contributing factors and
relevant solutions such as affordable housing. People provide information on
events, new reports, training, advocacy activities, meetings, articles,
research, etc., in the Ottawa area as well as on broader provincial and
federal issues.
We ask members to post their messages directly to the listserv:
homeles_ot-l at list.web.net.
The Listserv has several hundred members largely from Ottawa agencies and
organizations working to end homelessness and to assist homeless people and
those at risk of becoming homeless; as well there are a number of concerned
community members interested in ATEH activities and its advocacy work such
as the annual Report Card on Ending Homelessness. A number of provincial and
national groups also keep informed on ATEH activities.
- The Listserv is not moderated but at the same time we do track for
recurring emails that may be about important matters but are not of direct
relevance to homelessness. Members are able to send messages with no
editorial review of content. Message authors are solely responsible for
content of their messages. ATEH does not verify the accuracy of submitted
messages nor necessarily endorse the opinions expressed. To save readers
time we suggest that key information be in the body of the message not just
in an attachment.
- This listserv does not allow postings that are sent to implicit
destinations (bcc) - blind carbons. Also, it delays messages with too many
addresses in the Send To line. So the best thing is to post separately to
this list.
- Membership in ATEH is not required to join the listserv but all notices
for ATEH members are posted on the listserv. There is information about
becoming an ATEH member under "About the Alliance" on our website:

Thank you.
