HUMAN RIGHTS AND RENTAL HOUSING IN OTTAWA: 
 
ONTARIO HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION LAUNCHES NEW POLICY 
 
CERA and the Ontario Human Rights Commission invite you to an information and learning event on human rights in rental housing in the context of Ontario and how it can be applied in your work at the local level. 
In 2009, the Ontario Human Rights Commission released its Policy on Human Rights and Rental Housing (http://www.ohrc.on.ca/en/resources/Policies/housing/pdf). The policy is a practical guide to understanding and addressing discrimination in rental housing. This event will provide participants with an opportunity to learn more about the policy and its practical application. 
Speakers will include: Barbara Hall, Chief Commissioner of the Ontario Human Rights Commission, Alain Roy of Amnesty International (English Canada), Leilani Farha, Centre for Equality Rights in Accommodation and Cherie Robertson, Senior Policy Analyst, Ontario Human Rights Commission.
