In Honour of Poverty Awareness Week, the Ottawa Poverty Reduction Network and Centretown Community Health Centre will be screening the film Poor No More at the Mayfair Theatre

 

Poor No More is a feature length documentary about the problems and prospects of Canada's working poor - the millions of people who work hard for a living but still live in poverty.  It doesn't just describe their problems - it offers viable, tested solutions.

 

The film is hosted by TV and film star Mary Walsh.  She takes us to a world where people do not have to beg, where housing is affordable, and university education is free!   The natural question to ask is, If other countries can reduce poverty in this way, why don't we ?!? 

 

Executive Producer, David Langille will be in attendance.

 

Wednesday, October 13, 7pm

The Mayfair Theatre, 1074 Bank st. (at Sunnyside)

Admission - sliding scale/pay what you can 

 

In English with French subtitles.

The film screening will be followed by a discussion with David Langille, the executive producer.
