Rural Services for Children, Youth and Families:  Influencing a Changing
Environment

 

A Call for Working Group members! 

 

The Government of Ontario is looking at proposed changes to services for
children and youth across the system. This review, coupled with the
recent implementation of full day learning, the child welfare
transformation,  the transfer of childcare responsibilities from MCYS to
the Ministry of Education, and the proposed move of mental health from
MCYS to Health, have raised the issue of rural service delivery. 

 

There are concerns that rural needs and strengths will not be considered
in the overall system review.  

 

The Child and Youth Health Network for Eastern Ontario is inviting
interested members to join a Working Group to:


*        review and assess the changing landscape from a rural
perspective

*        explore a role for the CYHNEO

*        facilitate a process for a regional voice
