Ontario 211 A Strong Municipal Partner

The Ontario 211 Services Corporation is making significant headway in making
211 a pan province service by the end of 2011. This session will outline
this progress while describing how the service helps both clients and
service agencies in the effort to reduce poverty and its impacts. This
session will also provide concrete examples of how 211 is working
effectively with municipalities to deal with emergency situations as they
arise.

Post-conference Town Hall Style Forum with Frances Lankin, Commissioner of
the Social Assistance Review

Wed. June 8 - 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. London Convention Centre

After the Learning Symposium ends, OMSSA members will have a unique
opportunity to engage in a conversation with Frances Lankin, Commissioner of
the Social Assistance Review.

In these early days of the Review, this Town Hall-style forum will allow
OMSSA members the opportunity to learn about the review and to help shape
the transformation of Ontario's social assistance system. This
solution-focused discussion will give the Commissioner an opportunity to
hear the current thinking among CMSMs and DSSABs about social assistance
reform-and will give OMSSA members the tools to lead local conversations and
become local ambassadors for the Social Assistance Review process. If you
are an OMSSA member and you would like to attend this meeting, please
complete the attached registration form.

Monday, June 6, Take a trip to Palasad South - $20.00/person

A bus will depart the Convention Centre at 6:30 p.m. returning at 10:30 p.m.
Included is a night of fun and games with colleagues and friends. Your
ticket includes transportation, a private room overlooking the bowling
lanes, one pool table and finger foods (nachos, vegetables and dip, wings,
and pizza). Join in a game of pool or bowl a few games, or sit back and
enjoy the big screen television.
