Women's Action Forum

Making PRESTO Smart Card accessible for everyone

(la version française suit)

When you ride a city bus in the future, you will pay with a PRESTO smart card.  How will it work? Will PRESTO be accessible for people living on low-income? For people with disabilities?   

Following a CAWI deputation and many messages sent to Council, City Council approved a motion this week that "OC Transpo work with community agencies to determine how the PRESTO system will be accessible to people on low-income".

At this Women's Action Forum, OC Transpo will be present to discuss and explore the alternatives with us.  Come contribute your input.

Refreshments will be served.

Reimbursing Expenses: We have limited funds for those of us who need  childcare, bus tickets or transportation reimbursed in order to participate.   Help us keep parking costs low, by taking the bus or trying to find a parking spot that is free, if possible.

Forum des femmes d'action

Rendre la carte à puce Presto accessible à tous

À l'avenir, lorsque vous prendrez l'autobus, vous paierez avec une carte à puce PRESTO. Comment est-ce que ça va marcher? Est-ce que PRESTO sera accessible aux personnes à faible revenu? Aux personnes handicapées?   

À la suite d'une députation de l'IVTF et après réception de plusieurs messages, le Conseil municipal a approuvé cette semaine une motion stipulant « qu'OC Transpo travaille avec les agences communautaires pour établir comment le système PRESTO sera accessible aux personnes à faible revenu ».

Une représentante d'OC Transpo sera présente à ce Forum des femmes d'action pour explorer les solutions possibles et en discuter avec nous. Venez contribuer au processus.
