City's auditor general to probe housing contracts
The city's auditor general is proceeding with an investigation into allegations that contracts have been awarded improperly at Ottawa Community Housing, the head of the agency's board says. Councillor Steve Desroches had recommended to fellow board members that auditor general Alain Lalonde be asked to probe claims about the contract process that were received in an anonymous letter this month. Desroches said Wednesday that board members agreed to the auditor general's involvement, and he expects the findings to be received around April or May.
