Dear Members and Friends of the Alliance to End Homelessness,

 

February 15th is only 12 days away! There is still time to get your tickets
for the Centre 454 60th Anniversary benefit concert performed by the
University of Toronto’s Hart House Orchestra. 

 

CENTRE <http://www.centre454.ca/>  454 is celebrating 60 years of service in
our community! It has grown from humble beginnings in 1954 into an
award-winning drop-in day program supporting individuals who are homeless,
are inadequately housed, or are living in poverty in our community.

 

Centre 454 will mark this 60th milestone throughout the year beginning with
a benefit concert by the University of Toronto’s HART HOUSE ORCHESTRA on
SATURDAY FEBRUARY 15, 2014 at 7:30 pm – a Valentine treat! The concert will
be performed at Dominion-Chalmers Church, one of Ottawa’s leading venues for
classical music, with guest violin soloist Arkady

ker.aspx>  Yanivker of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. We know from
experience that this will be a terrific evening of community celebration and
outstanding music! 

 

Hart House Orchestra’s program of music will include: 

§  George Butterworth—A Shropshire Lad, Rhapsody for Orchestra

§  Carl Nielsen—Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, Op. 33

§  Felix Mendelssohn—Symphony No. 4 (Italian), Op. 90

TICKETS:

§  In recognition of the Centre’s 60th anniversary, the regular ticket price
is $60 – which includes an intermission reception and a tax receipt for $30

§  Tickets for students and individuals on low income are $20

For 60 years, those who come to Centre 454 have found a safe, caring
community and the supports they need to overcome significant challenges. And
those who volunteer and support the work of the Centre find that they, too,
are changed. We look forward to making a difference together during our year
of celebration!
