The 2014 Hydro Ottawa Brighter Tomorrows Fund application process is now underway. This innovative targeted community investment fund is supported by corporate matching dollars from Hydro Ottawa's annual United Way campaign and administered by United Way Ottawa. This fund enables frontline charities that serve people who are homeless, or at risk of being homeless, to invest in energy-efficient technologies or products. Specifically, the fund supports small-scale capital projects that improve the energy efficiency of an organization's facilities, helping to reduce energy costs and creating savings that organizations can use for their programs.

The Call for Proposals for funding under this program was launched on March 10, 2014 and proposal submissions are due by March 31, 2014. A committee with representatives from Hydro Ottawa, United Way Ottawa and the local community will evaluate the proposals and make the funding decisions. Since its inception in 2011, more than $359,000 has been contributed in support of 35 energy efficiency projects completed by 17 frontline community agencies. Projects range from window replacements to the installation of energy efficient lighting, high-efficiency fans, appliances and boiler systems.

Le processus de demande relatif au Fonds pour un avenir brillant (FAB) 2014 d'Hydro Ottawa est maintenant lancé. Ce Fonds novateur d'investissement communautaire ciblé, géré par Centraide Ottawa, est constitué d'une contribution d'Hydro Ottawa équivalente aux sommes recueillies dans le cadre de sa campagne annuelle Centraide. Ce Fonds aide les organismes de bienfaisance de première ligne au service des sans-abri ou des personnes qui risquent de le devenir, à investir dans des technologies ou des produits écoénergétiques. Ce Fonds appuie en particulier des petits projets d'immobilisations qui améliorent l'efficacité énergétique des installations des organisations, ce qui contribue à réduire les coûts d'énergie et permet à celles-ci de réaliser des économies pouvant ensuite être réinjectées dans leurs programmes.

L'appel de propositions dans le cadre de ce programme a été lancé le 10 mars 2014 et les demandes de propositions doivent parvenir avant le 31 mars 2014. Un comité constitué de représentants d'Hydro Ottawa, de Centraide Ottawa et de la communauté locale évaluera les propositions en vue de prendre des décisions de financement. Depuis sa création en 2011, le Fonds a investi plus de 359 000 $ dans 35 projets écoénergétiques de 17 organismes communautaires de première ligne. Les projets vont du remplacement de fenêtres à l'installation d'éclairage écoénergétique, de ventilateurs à haut rendement, d'appareils électroménagers et de systèmes de chauffage.
