This professional development workshop might be of interest to some of you who are looking to be more effective in your communication practices. Gina Grosenick and I will be leading this two day session and covering a range of topics including communication & campaign planning, social media, media relations, targeting audiences, and more. We’ll even spend an afternoon conducting mock interviews. The workshop is offered through Carleton University’s Faculty of Public Affairs Professional Institute.

The workshop is well suited for either dedicated communication staff or other staff members within your organization who are engaged in some form of communication activity.

Strategic Communication Planning for Non-Profit Organizations



Date and time: 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. | Tuesday June 9 – Wednesday June 10, 2015.

Location: River Building, Carleton University.

Enrolment Fee: The registration fee for the seminar is $350.00 plus HST per person.

The registration fee includes two days of instruction, a strategic communication planning template, morning and afternoon refreshments.

Target audience

This workshop is targeted at small to medium-sized non-profit organizations that are seeking to be more effective in their communication practices, and have recently committed or are thinking of dedicating committed resources to the communications function in their organization.

Overview

This two day seminar will provide participants with an understanding of how important integrated communication is for non-profit organizations. It will also offer hands-on experience with strategic, integrated communications planning.

Workshop leaders

Dr. Gina Grosenick is a Carleton Professor whose research explores and analyzes the strategic communication and advocacy practices of non-profit organizations to achieve social and political change.

Derek Antoine is a PhD Candidate and Instructor in the School of Journalism and Communication with extensive experience in the non-profit sector at the local, provincial, and national levels.
