This is a Support Don't Punish<http://supportdontpunish.org/> event supporting people who are oppressed and targeted by the (in)justice system because they use substances, are Indigenous and POC, have alternative forms of earning income, live with disabilities, don't have homes, and live in poverty.

Join us for FOOD and encourage people to bring their tickets to the Ticket Defence Program - Programme de contestation des contraventions<https://www.facebook.com/TDPOttawa> to Minto Park, Thursday June 25th at 1pm.

People can get free legal info and representation with tickets issued through:
* Liquor Licence Act
* Safe Streets Act
* Trespass to Property Act
* OC Transpo
* City of Ottawa Bylaws

The lawyers and law students will try to get tickets thrown out and can support you through this process. People can still get representation if they don't have the actual ticket/s.

If these tickets accumulate and aren't responded to, they can cause psychological distress as well as serious consequences such as negatively impacting one's credit rating which can be a barrier for housing.

Everyone is encouraged to come out to show your support against these Safe Streets Act and other municipal/provincial tickets being issued to people for survival needs like panhandling and taking the bus without being able to pay.

We will also have information about:

+ Participatory Research in Ottawa: Understanding Drugs (PROUD)

+ The Support Don't Punish Campaign for Safer Consumption Sites in Ottawa

+Petition to repeal the Safe Streets Act

(There may also be a wading pool and wigs...come to see more!)
