June 17: National Day of Action "Vote Housing for All"

We are reaching out to community organizations in Ottawa to mark this Wednesday June 17 National Day of Action for the right to housing. Groups across Canada will be holding different events and actions in their communities to say that we will vote housing for all! We want to spread awareness and send a strong message to all political parties for the upcoming federal elections that we want to see a commitment to housing as a human right. 

 

Attached to this e-mail you will find:

1) A one pager highlighting the collective message of the National Day of Action put together by Right to Housing

2) The newly released 2014 Progress Report on Ending Homelessness in Ottawa from the Alliance to End Homelessness Ottawa

Quick and easy ways for you and your organization to take action on the right to housing:

 

·         Read the 2014 Progress Report on Ending Homelessness in Ottawa (attached to this e-mail) and share it with your networks through your platform of choice (twitter, facebook, e-mail) 

·         Visit the Canadian Housing and Renewal Association (CHRA) website to watch a short video on the affordable housing crisis http://housing4all.ca/news/chra-launches-housing-for-all-video <http://housing4all.ca/news/chra-launches-housing-for-all-video>  and take action with the CHRA campaign:

·         Include an article on the right to affordable housing issue in your organization's next newsletter or blog

·         Encourage people to write to, e-mail or call MPs with a personalized message to let them know why the right to affordable housing is important. 17 juin 2015 - Journée nationale d'action : Voter pour un logement pour tous !

 

Nous demandons aux organismes communautaires d 'Ottawa de marquer ce mercredi 17 juin comme Journée national d'action pour le droit au logement. Plusieurs groupes tiendront des événements ou agiront dans leurs communautés, partout au Canada, pour dire que nous allons voter pour un logement pour tous! Nous voulons sensibiliser les la population et envoyer un message fort à tous les partis politiques pour les prochaines élections fédérales - nous voulons voir un engagement pour le droit au logement.

 

Ci-joint vous trouverez :

1)      Un document avec un message collectif de la Journée nationale d'action mis en place par la coalition Right to Housing

2)       Le nouveau Rapport d'étape pour mettre un terme à l'itinérance de  l'Alliance pour mettre un terme à l'itinérance Ottawa

Moyens rapides et faciles pour agir sur le droit au logement:

 

·         Lisez le Rapport d'étape pour mettre un terme à l'itinérance (ci-joint) et partagez-le dans les réseaux sociaux de votre choix (Twitter, Facebook, par courriel, etc.)

·         Incluez un article sur le droit du logement abordable dans le prochain bulletin d'information ou blog de votre organisme.
