Topic: Violence, Head Injury and Later Life Onset of Dementia in Women

Speaker: Professor Roy Haynes, Carleton University School of Social Work

This presentation addresses an issue that is not often explored when
dealing with the onset of dementia of women and that has to do with *head
trauma related to male partner violence.*
At the present time there is a great deal of discussion pertaining to the
life -long consequences of  head injury, concussions and brain trauma
resulting from sports related injuries but there is limited research into
the long term consequences of head injuries for women who may were abused
earlier in their lives or throughout their lives.
This presentation will address many of these issues and *it is hoped that
the discussion will help with the presenter’s research on the topic.*
