*The 2016 Hydro Ottawa Brighter Tomorrows Fund application process is now
underway.*

This innovative targeted community investment fund is supported by
corporate matching dollars from Hydro Ottawa’s annual United Way campaign
and administered by United Way Ottawa. This fund enables frontline
charities that serve people who are homeless, or at risk of being homeless,
to invest in small-scale energy-efficient technologies or products. *Please
note that* *priority this year will be given, but not exclusively, to
frontline charities that focus on youth homelessness in either a prevention
and/or intervention capacity.* The fund helps these agencies reduce energy
costs and creating savings that can be used to improve their facilities,
provide more comfortable living spaces, or be directed towards programming.
Energy audits are also eligible for funding.

We are looking to the community we serve to help identify small capital
projects, those with the greatest potential for making housing and shelter
facilities energy-efficient. Funding proposals are now being solicited and
will be reviewed by a committee made up of representatives from Hydro
Ottawa, United Way Ottawa and the local community.

Since its inception in 2011, more than $600,000 has been invested in over
60 energy efficiency projects completed by 19 frontline community agencies.
Small capital projects funded include the replacement of old windows, the
installation of high efficiency heating and cooling systems or the purchase
of new and more energy efficient appliances.

*Le processus de demande 2016 dans le cadre du Fonds pour un avenir
brillant d’Hydro Ottawa est en cours.*

Ce fonds novateur d’investissement communautaire ciblé, géré par Centraide
Ottawa, est constitué d’une contribution d’Hydro Ottawa équivalente aux
sommes recueillies dans le cadre de sa campagne annuelle Centraide. Ce
fonds permet aux organismes de bienfaisance de première ligne desservant
les itinérants ou les personnes à risque de le devenir, à investir dans des
produits ou des technologies à haut rendement énergétique à petite
échelle. *Veuillez
noter que cette année, la priorité sera donnée (sans toutefois s’y limiter)
aux organismes de bienfaisance de première ligne qui se concentrent sur la
prévention ou l’intervention en matière d’itinérance juvénile. * Le fonds
aide ces organismes à réduire leurs coûts énergétiques et à réaliser des
économies qui peuvent être utilisées pour améliorer leurs installations,
offrir des espaces de vie plus confortables ou aider à la programmation.
Les vérifications énergétiques sont aussi admissibles au financement.

Nous demandons à la communauté que nous desservons de nous aider à
identifier de petits projets d’immobilisations, qui contribueront à
accroître le rendement énergétique des logements et des abris. Le processus
de demandes de propositions est maintenant ouvert et les soumissions seront
évaluées par un comité constitué de représentants d’Hydro Ottawa, de
Centraide Ottawa et de la communauté locale.
