*Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) is launching a call for
nominations for an Advisory Committee of experts and stakeholders in the
field of homelessness to support the renewal of the Homelessness Partnering
Strategy.*

Deadline to submit a nomination: February 20, 2017 (23:59 PST)


*About the Advisory Committee*
The Advisory Committee will be composed of 8 to 10 members who are external
to government, have extensive knowledge of homelessness and are
representative of Canada’s diversity. ESDC officials will attend all
meetings of the Advisory Committee to provide policy and program expertise
and advice. Guests and observers from other Government of Canada
departments and other orders of government may also be invited to
participate.

Nominees must be available and willing to commit to participate as Advisory
Committee members over the entire period of the Committee’s work,
anticipated to be up to six months. The Chair of the Advisory Committee
will determine the frequency of meetings—in-person and virtual—and the
level of involvement required of members. The Chair will also determine the
extent of the travel required.

Members will not be financially compensated while conducting the Advisory
Committee’s business; however, accommodations and travel costs will be
covered when attending meetings or engagement activities outside of their
home community, in accordance with the Treasury Board’s policies and
directives. All travel and accommodation arrangements will be made by the
Government of Canada. The Government of Canada will book travel, reserve
hotel rooms and provide meals during Advisory Committee meetings.
Accommodations for special needs or disabilities will also be provided as
needed.

Following the completion of the selection process, the Government will
announce the final membership of the Advisory Committee in spring 2017.
