[homeles_ot-l] CMHC Federal Lands Initiative - Land parcel in Ottawa

Good morning,
As you may know, as part of the National Housing Strategy, the Federal Lands Initiative is breathing new life into surplus federal properties, allowing them to be transformed into much needed affordable housing. The $200-million fund supports the transfer of surplus federal lands and buildings to eligible proponents, at discounted to no cost, to be developed or renovated for use as affordable housing. The discount on the property depends on the level of social outcomes achieved by the winning proposal.
I am pleased to share with you today that five such properties have recently been released and are accepting proposals.
The properties are:

Wateridge - Block 21 (Ottawa, Ontario)<https://www.cmhc-schl.gc.ca/en/nhs/federal-lands/Wateridge-village>

The property being marketed in this competition consists of one block of vacant land part of the Wateridge Village development located on the former site of Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Rockcliffe in Ottawa, Ontario. The FLI is seeking proposals to develop a mixed-use property on this site which consists of no less than 173 residential units.

Coin du Nord (Montreal, Quebec)<https://www.cmhc-schl.gc.ca/en/nhs/federal-lands/montreal-north>

The property being marketed in this competition is a three-storey wood-frame apartment building consisting of 18 units which is in relatively poor physical condition and is in significant need of revitalization.

1455-1465 Place du Dauphin & 1148-1162 rue Jogues (Sherbrooke, Quebec)<https://www.cmhc-schl.gc.ca/en/nhs/federal-lands/Sherbrooke>

The property being marketed in this competition is a residential project including two 6-unit buildings in average physical condition and currently fully occupied. The FLI is seeking a committed proponent who will be willing to make a significant investment in this property to revitalize it and ensure it remains a desirable place to live for members of the community.

Pleasantville - Lots 5-8, 13-17 (St. John's, Newfoundland)<https://www.cmhc-schl.gc.ca/en/nhs/federal-lands/Pleasantville-lots>

The properties being marketed in this competition comprise nine lots of vacant land which are being sold as two blocks of 4 and 5 lots respectively. These lots form part of the Pleasantville neighbourhood located on the former site of a U.S. and Canadian military base in St. John's, Newfoundland.

The property being marketed in this competition is a block of vacant land which is part of the Pleasantville neighbourhood located on the former site of a U.S. and Canadian military base in St. John's, Newfoundland. The FLI is seeking proposals to develop a residential property on this site which consists of no less than 40 residential units.

Comme vous le savez peut-être, l'Initiative des terrains fédéraux, dans le cadre de la Stratégie nationale sur le logement, donne un nouveau souffle aux biens immobiliers fédéraux excédentaires en leur permettant d'être transformés en logements abordables grandement nécessaires. Il s'agit d'un fonds de 200 millions de dollars qui permettra la cession de terrains et d'immeubles fédéraux excédentaires à des proposants admissibles à coût réduit ou nul, afin d'encourager la création ou la rénovation de logements abordables. Le rabais offert pour un bien immobilier dépendra des résultats sociaux que permettra d'obtenir la proposition retenue.

Le bien immobilier offert dans le cadre du présent concours est un ensemble résidentiel comptant deux immeubles de six logements chacun, dont l'état est passable et qui sont entièrement occupés. L'ITF cherche un proposant engagé disposé à faire un investissement important dans cet ensemble afin de le revitaliser et faire en sorte qu'il demeure un endroit attrayant pour les membres et la collectivité.
