[homeles_ot-l] Weekend Services at Tom Brown Respite Centre

Good afternoon everyone



As you know, at the end of 2020, Tom Brown extended their hours to provide weekend services to support the City's cold weather response. Weekend hours at Tom Brown Respite Centre continued through the spring as they also supported a need in services while awaiting the completion of the St. Luke's expansion project, which includes an expanded shower program and additional weekend service hours.



With the warmer weather here and with St. Luke's expansion now complete, through thorough consultation with community partners, Tom Brown's final weekend hours of operation will be the weekend of May 1-2, 2021.



I am happy to share that St. Luke's expanded programming will open to the public this weekend, April 24-25, 2021. Tom Brown will remain open this weekend to support St. Luke's soft opening. Tom Brown will also open the following weekend, May 1-2, 2021, to support in the overall transition plan.



Staff have been actively engaging respite centre clients to support them with the transition plan, ensuring clients using weekend services at Tom Brown are aware of all the weekend service offerings available in the community, including the newly expanded St. Luke's.
