The Frostbite Warning issued on January 20, 2022 is now over. The Frostbite Advisory is now effect until further notice as windchill values will be -25 or colder over the weekend.

La mise en garde contre les engelures émis le 20 janvier 2022 est maintenant terminée. L'avertissement de risque d'engelures est encore en vigueur car les valeurs de refroidissement éolien seront de -25 ou plus froides pendant la fin du semaine.

Ottawa Public Health (OPH) has issued a Frostbite Warning to ensure people take appropriate precautions before going outside and to encourage homeless people to seek indoor shelter from the cold. A Frostbite Warning is issued when a wind chill of -35 or colder is forecast by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) for the Ottawa area. With a wind chill of -35 or colder, exposed skin can freeze in less than ten minutes.
