[homeles_ot-l] Bernard Grandmaître Respite Centre Closure Update

Hello everyone,



As part of the ongoing recovery planning, we wanted to provide you with an update on the progress and timelines with regards to the Bernard Grandmaître Respite Centre.



As you know, the Respite Sustainability Plan report, approved by Council in April 2022, recommended maintaining a temporary respite centre in Vanier for the remainder of 2022 and to review the service plans and needs for the Vanier area for early 2023. The Human Needs Command Centre (HNCC) has been working in collaboration with Community Day Programs and other service-like agencies to transition City-operated temporary respite services back to the community.



The Vanier Community Advisory Group has begun their work to help inform future options to support service plans and needs in the Vanier area. While early planning is underway for to support current recovery efforts and overall transition plans, the expected final date of respite service operations for the BG site is Friday, December 16, 2022.  We will use the coming months to continue to work consultatively with community partners, in order to best support the transition of respite services back to the community while minimizing disruption and impacts to the clients.
