Please see below for more information about upcoming Soul Space offerings (in support of the wellbeing of frontline workers who care for people experiencing homelessness, poverty, complex mental health and substance use issues):

1. This Thursday, October 12th, our Soul Space Café is cancelled as many of our Soul Space team members are involved in a related event involving a short film about advance care planning for people experiencing homelessness <https://www.chpca.ca/conference/program/the-challenge-planning-without-tomorrow-film-screening-and-panel-presentation/>. All are welcome at this free event (co-hosted by Ottawa Inner City Health and Compassionate Ottawa) - click on the link to register (requested, not required). Our regular Soul Space Cafe resumes Thursday, November 9th.

2. Please register today <https://bookeo.com/soulspaceottawa?devent=3151CRR3WU18A85B8F606_2023-10-28_JorIkvGIWZG> for our free community screening of the documentary, Love in the Time of Fentanyl <https://fb.me/e/1hWvX7Kai>, on Saturday, October 28th at the Bytowne Cinema (11am-1pm), followed by an opportunity to discuss the film and to learn more about Soul Space as we gather at Sandy Hill Community Health Centre (across from the theatre) following the screening. All are welcome!

3. Join us on Saturday, November 11th for an ensemble theatre workshop for frontline street health, harm reduction, community and social service workers, in collaboration with 9th Hour Theatre Company. Please note: I do my best to respond to emails during office hours. However, my working hours may not reflect yours. Should you receive correspondence from me during a time that you are not working, please honour your time and respond when most suitable for you.

I acknowledge that our work is done on the traditional unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg People, who have lived on this land since time immemorial. We commit to honouring an approach of cultural humility and recognize that reconciliation and decolonization are not metaphors, but actions that require an ongoing and unwavering commitment to social justice and equity.
