My name is Jon Serrato and I am a research coordinator working on a new national study focusing on Women Veterans with past or current experience of homelessness, under the supervision of lead investigator, Dr. Cheryl Forchuk. The study seeks to understand the roots of homelessness in women Veterans, their distinct needs and experiences, and what needs to be done to address this issue.
If you know of any Veterans who identify as Women and have experienced homelessness (in the past or currently) we would greatly appreciate and welcome the opportunity to meet with them, if they would be interested in speaking with us.

Please see the attached recruitment poster and project summary that contains more information about the research project. Feel free to distribute among your contacts and networks.

Cheryl and an experienced researcher, Dr. Boniface Harerimana, will be in Ottawa from 28th Oct to 1st Nov. We can also do virtual interviews with Women Veterans via Zoom or telephone if the Veterans prefer. Meetings and interviews outside Ottawa up to one hour away can be accommodated in-person but further than that will likely be done via Zoom or telephone.
Thanks, please note as well, that although Cheryl and Boniface will be in the area shortly, we anticipate it will likely take a couple of years to surpass 100 women in the research. We will be available to offer virtual interviews during the next 2 years. We may also be able to do in-person interviews depending on the Veterans' location in Ontario.

The Women will be offered $20 as an honorarium for their time (in person or virtual/phone).

We would be happy to meet and discuss the project in more detail via a Zoom meeting or over the telephone if you would like.
